Hi Pals,
As you know, I go to Sentosa for swim every week. I know that most of my friends who read my blog are not from Singapore so I have decided to show you some pictures of how Sentosa look like. Please pardon me for the poor picture quality. My jie jie is never a good photographer.
I am on my way to Sentosa. Please come along with me.
Sentosa is a small island away from Singapore main land. In the past we can only get onto the island via Ferry or Cable car but some years ago, the authorities has built a causeway between the 2 islands. We can now drive into Sentosa, take the Taxi or the bus.
This is the latest mode of public transport to go Sentosa called the Sentosa Express.
As the name implies, it take only about 5 mins ride to get onto the island. Unlike taking the bus or car, there will not be any traffic jam.
These are some pictures taken on the Sentosa Express.
This is the harbor PSA load and unload the cargoes from the big ships.
Those big weight lifting monsters that are used to lift and arrange the cargo are Huge!!
Left is the Singapore main island and right side is the Sentosa island.
We have reached Sentosa!!! Wooohooo!!!They are building a huge resort and shopping area on Sentosa.
Looks like its going to be a huge and grand looking place. Let wait to see the building when the construction is completed.
We are reaching our destination, the beach station.
Did you see those wooden huts on built on the sea? It called the Kelong.
Such Kelong has already became extinct in Singapore but there are still some in Malaysia and Indonesia. You can read more about it from here.
View of the Kelong from the Sentosa Express Station.
Kelongs are for keeping fishes to be sold to the consumers in the Market as fishes caught from the sea but in actual fact, they just need to net it from their own fish farm so "Kelong" also became a term we commonly used to say that someone is cheating. hee...
Nope. They do not keep fish farm on Sentosa Island. This Kelong is used for the performance of "Song of the Sea". We have never watched it before yet thou.
Here we are. Just alighted from the Sentosa Express.
These are the beach trams that is used on the island to ferry visitors to the different beaches.

Wooohooo! This is the Palawan Beach that I go to swim at. I dun swim at this side of the beach because there are huge waves that try to murder me.
This is the view of the ocean from the other side of the small island.
Ok. I am ready to swim. If you want more pictures of Sentosa island, let me know. I will try to take some pictures of those tourist attractions for you the next time if you are interested.
This picture is for Noah's D. Jie jie's version of Roasted Pork Belly. Can you tell from the picture that the skin is really crispy? hee...
Yummm... its chopped up and ready to be eaten. It goes very nice with white rice.
Do you want to try some? :P

How exciting, we love learning about all of our international friends. Thanks for sharing this with us!
We are having problems leaving comments.
We were saying that you are one lucky girl. Can you believe that we have never stepped in Sentosa? Mama says the sand on the beach drives her crazy.

Oh wow, that pork looks delish and the skin is so crispy. I bet D doesn't do as good a job cooking the pork bell as Jie Jie.
Thanks for the tour of Sentosa Snowball. The place you go swimming looks great. Nice and safe.
Hugs and tail wags

Hi Snowball!
You're so lucky to have such a swell beach to go swimming and strolling on so close to your home! Have you ever been on one of those cable cars? Those look scary! Guess what? We have the exact same lifejacket—though I think you're a better swimmer than I am. Mostly I like to plop down in the shallow water.
Thanks for the mini-vacation to Sentosa!

Those are great pictures of Sentosa and of you, Snowball. My mom wishes she could visit Singapore. One of her friends moved there almost a year ago for a 2 year period. I am not sure if I like pork belly.
